Best-In-Show winners . . .

Ch. Schaferhaus Danielle, ROM (Am. Can. Ch. Leonine Leprechaun, ROMX x Am. Aust. Can. Ch. Rryde Symphony, ROM) was the winner of 2 Specialties and 7 All-Breed BIS and was the dam of 5 champions.  Two of her more memorable wins were Westminster KC Working Group 2nd and being awarded Best of Opposite at the National at nearly 8 years of age.  All of the Pems bred at Vangard still trace back to Danielle.

Ch. Vangard Mister Ski Bum, ROMX (Ch. Bear Acres Mister Snowshoes, UD, ROM x Ch. Vangards Danzon In The Dark) was the Top Winning US Corgi in 1977 and 1978.  He was the winner of 2 Specialties, 10 BIS, and 30 Working Groups.  Ski Bum was also the sire of 30 champions including 4 All-Breed Best-in-Show winners.  Possessing the outgoing, charming corgi temperament in spades, he was a great PR man for the breed and Vangard Farm.

After winning her first BIS, Ch. Vangard Jenelle (Ch. Vangard Mister Ski Bum, ROMX x Ch. Schaferhaus Danielle, ROM)  went on to be owned and campaigned by Dr. and Mrs. Patrick Baymiller.  She amassed a record of 1 Specialty and 21 BIS and was the Top Herding Dog in the US for 1983.  She was the 1984 Westminster KC breed winner and place 2nd in the Herding Group.

The next to take top honors was Ch. Vangard Jondalar (Ch. Vangard Mister Ski Bum, ROMX ex Ch. Pennington Vangard May Gold) who was also compaigned by the Baymillers.  Breeder-owner-handled, Johnny finished his championship at 8 months 23 days of age with back to back group firsts and a Best-in-Show from the 6-9 puppy class.  He went on to win numerous groups and a total of 3 BIS.

Ch. Vangard Ingenue, PHC TD CDX (Ch. Pennington Parable ex Ch. Vangard Dixieland Liaison) who became a group winner at 8 months 16 days, was the most recent BIS winner to carry the Vangard banner.  As a puppy, she won 2 Specialty Sweepstakes; and won 5 All-Breed Bests-in-Show and 2 Specialties.  She was a Westminster Breed winner and placed 2nd in the Herding Group in 1999.  Angie was owned with Gail Deuel, another avid corgi enthusiast, and Marian and Jim Rivers with whom she retired.  Marian trained and showed Angie to her tracking and obedience titles ~ earning her CDX title in three straight shows over one weekend.
